The Democratic National Committee has just over 400 permanent members who represent the Democratic Party from the 50 states, the District of Columbia and Territories. There are 19 members from California elected once every 4 years by the CDP Executive Board. DNC members travel to our nation’s capital and to field meetings quarterly to discuss and conduct the business of our Democratic Party and to plan for national convention meetings that happen every 4 years to nominate our candidate for President and Vice-President of the United States.

Help Me Help California Dems at the DNC!

California Democrats have so much at stake this year: President Obama's re-election, the opportunity to retake the House of Representatives, and a real shot at finally breaking the gridlock in Sacramento by taking a two-thirds majority.

That's why I'm announcing my candidacy for a seat on the Democratic National Committee. I know my experience, drive, and ability to mobilize fellow Democrats will make a difference in our efforts in 2012. I will forcefully represent all California Democrats on the committee, and work to make sure DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz knows and responds to the needs of California.

I'm asking for you to join me in this campaign, and work to help me persuade the 300 California Democratic Party executive board members to support me at their next meeting in July.
